Why I don't have credit card?

I got a very nice thought for today (well as far as my point of view is concerned, I consider it "very nice"). Both me and my husband don't have credit card. He's been craving so much to have one, but I keep on discouraging him. Because I know how he handles cash. And it isn't very good. So I thought how bad it could be if it's credit? Consequently I gave him an ultimatum statement:       If there's anything you want to buy, as long as you have the money to pay for it, then buy it in cash without any guilt. But if you can't buy it, then don't. Simplified. So no need to grab a credit card.  Note that I said "without any guilt," because when I was younger, I had that guilt feeling whenever I buy something I didn't need at all. The guilt is that it was a bit expensive. That money I spent could be more useful into much important things. And I feel lucky that my husband somehow also has that "guilt-feeling thing" in spending (or ...

My Three-day Fasting Journey

(first posted on my Instagram @jazminpadillago 5th June 2020) Finally, with God's help and mercy, I was able to do the 72-hour fast! Yesss! As in no food for three days, with only sips of water when my tongue and throat feel dry. To sum up it was like two glasses of water each day. The 24 hours wasn't that difficult as I am used to doing a 24-hour fast, but the second day, the 40th hour and beyond, was a punishment though. And being a wife and mom, I would still have to cook for my family. The aroma of food was a real torture.  I have been wanting to do this three-day fast for spiritual matters and also because of many health benefits it can do to the body. Before science found out the good effects of fasting to one's health, thousands of years ago, it has already been written in the Bible. We can find many verses in the Bible that the men of God fasted and they became stronger physically and mentally. There were Moses, David, Daniel, Paul, to name a few. And of course our ...

From Rock Bottom to Happy Low-key Life

(first posted on Facebook, 7th August 2019) This is a blog based on experience of yours truly and family❤️ (1-2 min. read)  Honestly, I'm not very much comfortable to express my thoughts on social media. But Facebook has been an avenue for spreading useful articles, and for sharing life's events to friends. However, sadly, it's also becoming a platform of uncontrollable vanities. Well this is my timeline. I want my very first blog to be posted here. And because today is my 10th baptism anniversary (my 10th Sabbath), I want to share some reflections. That once upon a Jazmin, a piece of story of faith, hope, and love. I had had "slight meltdowns" in the night for quite a long time. It seemed like I was becoming a big fan of a good weep. Anyway it's also therapeutic and it's free. One of the "good things" that you can do and not paying for it. Awful things came, but it's okay. For there are also many positivities in hitting rock bottom. Yes, we ...
